This film was very well made for a tv film. The points made were that there are worse things than lack of intelligence; a higher intelligence does not create emotional maturity; for scientific advancement ethics are often put aside; and its really not very smart to be a bully. Albino mice were created in the 1920s and are all descendants of lab mice.
Many touching scenes in this film along with some tear jerking moments. Well worth the watch.

Keannu 1 points 3 days ago.

As stated online….
As of April 2024, 1923 season 2 doesn’t have an official release date, but it’s expected to be released by the end of 2024. The season was originally scheduled for late 2023 or early 2024, but the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes have delayed production. In June 2023, Paramount+ announced that the second season would be delayed indefinitely due to the strikes. With the strikes resolved, filming is expected to resume in the first few months of 2024

I don’t care for Cindy. I don’t want to see these people who don’t GAS anymore. They know they will die if they continue eating like that, but keep on doing it anyhow. Almost worst than an addict on drugs. We HAVE to have food to live, so it’s not like they can stay away from it. And I don’t want to sit for an hour and half watching someone continue to eat and lie to Dr. Now. I want to see someone who is ready to change their life and want to LIVE. Not people like Cindy. Wasted time. She don’t care so why should Dr. Now. She ignored him and went home. Until she needed him. Good thing I’m not a Dr. bc I’d told her to seek help else where bc when I say I’m done with someone? I’m done. I don’t go back and forth.

Book is such a pointless ancillary character now that’s just shoehorned into every episode. No reason to be in it until suddenly ‘O there just happens to be a familial kind of relationship with one of the people they’re chasing’. ‘Oh this place just happens to have an artefact from their world’. His only function is to be the Capts love interest so we can have those lovely long story detracting conversations about feelings and tense pauses. The show seems solely focused on them as the only people who ever undertake away missions. At least all other series mixed it up more with who was the episodes main charcaters.

Here’s another one you might like as well. I remember watching this, the synopsis could be a lot better, it’s accurate, but it’s more about a guy trying to be a leader in a militia in the aftermath of an alien invasion, and also trying to keep what’s left if his family together at the same time.

It’s actually really pretty well done, and there are several seasons to it. I would give this shot if you liked this. I Watched this series as well, and was disappointed at how it never got another season, felt it deserved one.

Yes, you could be right! I have begun to get some items for my survival box. I also have filled glass bottles with water and some gallon plastic bottles with water. I have a water filter device too, small compass, need to get a warm sleeping bag, I have a solar powered light and will be getting a solar powered watch. I also pay close attention to dramas like this to get an idea of other things I need to get. Also what to do and not do. I’m no survivalist, but it never hurts to be prepared. I’ve always had a big first aid kit in my car and I need to add a few things to it too. I have a book that lists foods/herbs etc to help with certain health issues.

Blackwater Lane
Piglet 1 points 3 days ago.

I might bite. Release date is June. Blackwater Lane is a psychological thriller based on the best-selling novel The Breakdown by B.A. Paris. Kelly (Friday Night Lights) plays Cass, a woman who, after witnessing a tragedy on a dangerous country road, is visited by a ghostly presence and begins to question her sanity. As these otherworldly experiences intensify, Cass is driven closer to the brink until she begins to assemble the pieces of a horrific plot against her. Mulroney (Shameless) plays Cass’ husband, Matthew, with Maggie Grace (Lost) as Cass’ best friend.

Piglet 1 points 3 days ago.

Hmmmm….do I want to watch this? I was in grade school during the Vietnam war and saw the protest and seeing the black body bags being put on transport planes. The 60’s was a tumultuous time in American history. It might be interesting to hear the story of why so many went to Canada.

FBI (2018) S6 E12
sonical 1 points 4 days ago*.

That was a crappy episode, showing that an ex-FBI agent can get away with obstructing justice in the case of the murder of 4 girls and the flooding of a whole city with killer pills… come on writers, have done far better, but I suppose after 6 seasons the well is getting pretty dry…

Piglet 1 points 3 days ago.

I haven’t watched the other 2 FBI shows in weeks. Like you, I find the same ole same ole story line. The European one is very disappointing. I shall stick to the British crime dramas.

Murder Company (2024)
Piglet 1 points 3 days ago.

I read a lot about WWII and watch tv series & movies about WWII. This one does sound interesting and here is a bit more about this event that happened in 1944. In June 1944, with the US invasion of Europe hanging in the balance, Allied commanders issued a top-secret directive that would send six men behind enemy lines to assassinate a high-valued German target. A mixed unit of soldiers from the 82nd Airborne, comprised of men from Easy, Able and Dog Companies, was joined by a lone member of the French Resistance. Their mission has never been officially acknowledged, and there is no record the unit ever existed. But those who were there gave it a name of its own: Murder Company.

Sister Boniface Mysteries (2022)

Unlike Father Brown this has a totally unlikeable set of main characters.

AstroJeston 1 points 4 days ago.

It’s okay-ish, but nowhere near as good as Father Brown, partly because the Sister Boniface day-dream-sequences are also ridiculously silly and annoying.

Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire (2024)
~Dime~ -1 points 4 days ago.

I can say that, because I believe that. if you are a fan of Godzilla, or Kong you will love this movie. And no. The story told in this movie isn’t something that has been told before.

hellsingfan01 -1 points 4 days ago.

Well again as a fan of both Kong and Godzilla that’s not true and as was stated in the above comment Kongs backstory was already told in full there was no need to make him the main character when he was already the main character in both the previous film and in the Skull Island animated series but once again you do you.

Bartleby (2001)

Melville’s story is a work of art. Glover’s interpretation was to turn Bartleby into a super creep. It’s an interesting spin, but I by far prefer the original.

Heart of Darkness (1994)
maxx.black2 4 points 4 days ago.

1994 film adaptation of the 1899 novella of the same name, written by Joseph Conrad. A fairly decent “compressed” version of the telling of the story that would eventually be rewritten by, and become the basis for director Francis Ford Copplala’s epic film, “Apocalypse Now”. Another of literatures great mind’s, Conrad is so eloquent in his writing, that you may think that you’re actually with him, as you both watch the descent of the raindrops through the jungle canopy he’d just spent half a page describing.
IMO, read the novella first, follow up by watching this film, then, move on to “Apocalypse Now”.
