My suspension of disbelief does about as well as the old Tacoma Narrows suspension bridge did when the idea of controlled euthanasia of a large segment of the population is the major plot point - but only because of the “controlled” part. The reality is the wars that would be fought over the dwindling resources and/or the massacre of ecological refugees fleeing to places where it’s not as badly devastated is our version of population reduction. Or if it’s internal within a country, more like Soylent Green than The Road Warrior.

It’s more of a nitpick than showstopper for me though - some of my favorite SF stories are the ones where the authors come up with unique post-apocalyptic societies (not including “young adult” orientated stories where a single teenager changes the entire world order by being plucky and self-confident).

Pretty decent movie, starring Ned Leeds, pretty good comedic actor.

I remember reading this in grade 12 English in the ‘80’s and it’s still part of the curriculum now (in Ontario anyway).

Oh God, really? I genuinely thought there was another episode, it’s just a place holder until June 13. We have all held our breaths to see Penelope finally get some (love) and this is where they pause? What a vicious way to keep everyone tethered to the show. Damnnnnn…

I have little doubt that there were Nazi sympathizers throughout the war that would have eagerly surrendered to Germany, but given that the British Union of Fascists and National Socialists was proscribed by the British government following the outbreak of war and disbanded soon after, it seems unlikely that there would be many willing to voice those opinions publicly.

Aah fair enough, and it’s not semantics as it would have absolutely mattered if the people in the movie were telling him to surrender outright as opposed to a negociated peace treaty.

Not a surrender as such, but a negotiated peace settlement. If Halifax had succeeded Chamberlain instead of Churchill, things very likely would have gone in that direction.

Starts next month! My how far Kevin Costner has come! In the movie The Big Chill, only his hands made it on screen. He was a bit green in the movie No Way Out, but many people took note of this fine-looking male actor. He soon learned and even in the 90’s his acting was still a bit green, and I sometimes think it’s because he really didn’t want to be in the movie, so his acting was so good.

Wasn’t there a big kerfuffle in 1940 about a bunch of Brits wanting to surrender?

It takes a few days for English subs to show up for each episode and there are differences from the movie but it’s a decent series.

Shamelss use of the brand name to fill seats and make money. Kinda hard to be a Mad Max film without him… Just a post apocalyptic action film about female empowerment, which is cool, but that’s not Mad Max. Should own it as an original or actually have MM in it.

I didn’t know the Irish were George Strait fans.

Aside from being a great director, what I like about Guy Richie’s classics are the interesting and complicated characters. Instead, this movie is yet another cartoonish WWII good vs evil story with one dimensional characters.

Big shoes to fill. Fury Road is a masterpiece.

One of the most well-done movies I have seen in a long time. What I believe to be a true action and adventure flick. Ty for uploads.

SO GLAD I WAITED for HD. This movie is so freaking good! The story, the effects. The way it was done. But most of all. The tie in of the origin of the myth of Godzilla. Absolutely Brilliant!!

Great start to the new season. Just love this cast of amazing actors who really make this show come alive. So many questions & lots of mystical oddness going around to keep me intrigued.

It was a pretty good movie, I’m sorry the person recording it had a person sleeping beside him that was doing some serious snoring right beside him. The snoring was very loud and annoying for 95% of the movie. But if you can tolerate the snoring that was recorded with the movie then it’s a pretty good movie.

Love the ‘armchair quarterbacks’ on this, the movie was fire, on more levels than u know [ using Ole’ Dirty Bastards “Shimmy Shimmy Ya’ll” ]? Genius! The show is a slow roll, at first, but it’s so much more gangster than people think. Give it a sec, let it take hold. You might just be impressed, but what do I know?
